Questions NRIs Often Ask
Can NRIs buy any type of property in India?
NRIs and OCI cardholders can buy residential and commercial property. Agricultural land, plantation property and farmhouses generally can't be purchased without RBI approval.
Do I need to travel to India to complete the purchase?
Not necessarily. Many clients complete purchases through a registered Power of Attorney given to a trusted person in India. We'll explain the options during your consultation.
How do I make payments?
Payments must be made through banking channels, via inward remittance or from NRE, NRO or FCNR accounts. Cash payments aren't permitted.
Which documents will I need?
Typically your passport, OCI card or visa, PAN card, address proof and photographs. We'll share a checklist specific to your purchase.
